Many of the foreign ALC teachers see living in Morocco as a big adventure. This is because everything is different: food, weather, friends, lifestyle and more. But it’s not just our teachers who are excited. It’s a fact that all foreign people coming to Morocco first see this country by the image presented in historical and travel books, like Marrakech folklore in the Jameaa El Fenna, Gnawa, Couscous, Tagine and other things.
So foreign people imagine Morocco as an oldish country which is stuck to its traditions and its ancient culture, but that’s not the only true image of Morocco. Unfortunately, Morocco isn’t known by its new image and new culture that is built by its new generation, out talented generation. This generation is talented in many ways and is shown in: music, dance, paintings, soccer and other arts.
This is why I would like to present you with the new picture of modern Morocco, by giving you few examples of boys and girls from our generation who have changed the antique picture of our country. These are some idols:
- Muslim- CasaCrew- Oum- Darga- H-Kayn- FezCityClan are just few stars who have made their place in the artistic scene and are very popular.
- Dancing: Breakdancing in Morocco is longstanding but it’s known as “SMURF” by Moroccans. Unfortunately, this kind of dance doesn’t have a professional future and is more a type of a street dancing. Despite this, it has its own reputation, fans and followers.
- From another view, Morocco supports all kind of talented boys and girls like –young soccer players. We have a reality-show called GOLDEN FOOT, Al Kadam Dahabi. This is a show dedicated to young boys who are passionate about soccer. This program helps them to improve their skills and involves them in well-known soccer teams. There are also many other shows dedicated to young generation who has a talent and a dream to follow.
This is the new, youthful face of Morocco, which accepts the diversity of cultures and encourages the men and women of the future to study, work and compete for one reason: to go forward and reach higher goals. Thus this future generation carries the name of our country to the highest standings.
I really loved this, and i just want to say BiG BRAVO to Lamyae 🙂
